How to use CWH

Welcome to Creative Writing Hub (CWH)!
My name is Mr Swan, a teacher presently at Boston High School. I have started this site as an area where students can become involved in creative writing, challenges and competitions with one another. Although this is set up with my students in mind, I am more than happy for anyone to take part and enjoy creative writing!

What I will do:
I will post something to inspire your creativity. It may be a picture, a video, a peice of music... anything that might very well get you thinking. I will also be posting advice on writing skills so, if you are in Key Stage 3 or 4, you may find some useful revision materials. I will be reviewing people's works and possibly offer some critique - but this is primarily going to be your responsibility! You should look over other's works and offer ideas for improvement, or just to express how awesome you thought it was.

What you should do:
Start your own blog within Blogger which will be your creative space; your portfolio of work. 'Follow' this particular blog so that you receive the updates. When you have written and posted your own story, you should comment on the original peice of inspiration with a link to your own work. Eventually, as bloggers comment and link back to their own interpretation, a wealth of related stories will be built up for you to browse. I may also post a deadline with each inspiration and announce a 'Most impressive response' award to those who took part.
Remember; Follow for updates. Compose and post yours to your own blog. Comment on my original post and link back to yours.

How to navigate:
I will tag each post with either; Inspiration, Advice or General. If you wanted to browse all the inspirations you would hit the inspiration tag. If you wanted to review writing guidance, just hit the Advice tag. This post will be a General.

Want to be involved but not from Boston High?
I would like to build some inter-school links. If you are in education and would like to be involved in this new enterprise, you should encourage to one of your teachers to offer to be a moderator (of which I am the primary) for this site. They can then also post Inspiration, Advice or General updates, though their primary responsibility will be to review their students' work and monitor comments. It is important that a member of staff is present from each school involved to monitor the feedback their students give.

There will also be a list of contributors so that, should you like to just browse authors, you can scrowl through the blogs of those that get involved.

An example with a link to my own work will be the first post.

I hope to see some creative works up soon!
